Heinz Memorial Chapel & Pittsburgh’s Grand Hall at The Priory – A Spring wedding with M+S

Maggie & Stephen’s spring wedding at Heinz Memorial Chapel was one of those truly magical celebrations that makes you fall in love with Pittsburgh all over again. With the city in full bloom and love in the air, these two tied the knot in an unforgettable celebration that blended timeless tradition with breathtaking beauty.

Their ceremony took place at one of my absolute favorite venues: Heinz Memorial Chapel. No matter how many times I photograph weddings here, it never loses its charm. The soaring Gothic architecture, the intricate woodwork, and, of course, the stunning stained glass it all makes for a setting that feels sacred, intimate, and incredibly photogenic. The chapel was the perfect backdrop as Maggie & Stephen exchanged vows, their love illuminated by the golden afternoon light filtering through the windows.

Outside, the pink trees were in full bloom, creating a perfect, pastel dreamscape that harmonized beautifully with the blush pink bridesmaids’ dresses. Nature couldn’t have timed it better. Everything felt soft, romantic, and effortlessly elegant.

After the ceremony, we made our way to Mellon Park’s Walled Garden for portraits a place I never tire of visiting. Nestled in the heart of the Shadyside, this little garden feels like an oasis. The textured stone walls, blooming greenery, and spring flowers gave Maggie & Stephen’s portraits a fairytale quality. It’s truly one of my favorite parks in Pittsburgh, especially this time of year.

From there, the celebration continued at the majestic Grand Hall at The Priory. Stepping into this venue is like walking into a storybook. The soaring ceilings, historic architecture, and those jaw-dropping stained glass windows set the scene for a reception that was both grand and warmly inviting. I always find myself captivated by the way the light filters through the windows it adds such an ethereal glow to every moment.

A huge shoutout to Janet & Jennifer, the incredible coordinators at The Priory. They are absolute pros and ran the reception seamlessly, ensuring everything flowed beautifully so Maggie & Stephen could truly soak in each moment. From heartfelt toasts to joyful dancing under the high vaulted ceilings, the night was filled with so much love and celebration.

Maggie & Stephen’s wedding was a perfect reflection of them as a couple. It was an honor to help capture this chapter in their story, along with my good friend & fellow photographer Jenni Grace. I know their love will continue to bloom just like those perfect spring blossoms that surrounded them on their wedding day.
