Alyssa & Ryan’s Sheraton Station Square Pittsburgh Wedding

A Classic Elegant Wedding at Sheraton Station Square in Pittsburgh, PA

Alyssa and Ryan were married at the Sheraton Pittsburgh Hotel at Station Square. They were surrounded by family, intentional details, and a celebration that felt unmistakably like them. With sweeping views of the Pittsburgh skyline and a soft palette of blush, champagne, sage green, and gold, their celebration felt timeless. Personal details throughout the day made it uniquely theirs. A fun-loving, family-centered, and completely devoted couple.

Their love story began on Bumble. They shared a first date at Mediterra in Mt. Lebanon. (for brunch, no less.) Ryan had never had brunch before (something Alyssa still finds hard to believe), and what was meant to be a short date quickly turned into three hours of talking, laughing, and walking around the area. From a memorable moment involving floral garnishes on a cocktail to discovering Ryan’s polo shirt was called “The Turin”—Alyssa’s last name—the connection was immediate. As the date drew to a close, a sudden downpour led to their first kiss in the rain, setting the tone for a relationship filled with laughter, spontaneity, and meaningful moments.

Later on, that same theme carried into Ryan’s proposal. After dinner at Alla Famiglia, Ryan searched for the perfect spot, and they made their way to Mount Washington. With rain once again falling around them, Ryan proposed at one of the overlooks. Alyssa said yes, they snapped a quick photo, and hurried back to the car—soaked, smiling, and newly engaged.

Meaningful Details & Personal Touches

For their wedding day, Alyssa envisioned something timeless and elegant without feeling overdone. The Sheraton provided the perfect setting, hosting both the ceremony and reception for a seamless and memorable guest experience. Throughout the day, meaningful details were woven in, including heirloom pieces sewn into her gown, a nod to their Italian heritage with traditional confetti (Jordan almonds) for guests, and handmade signage created by the couple themselves. One of the most personal touches was including their dog, Stella, dressed up and featured in photos—a moment the couple said they will always cherish.

Getting Ready at Sheraton Station Square

The morning began in one of the suites at the Sheraton Station Square Hotel, filled with a mix of excitement and anticipation. As hair and makeup wrapped up, the nerves slowly eased, and the atmosphere turned calm and joyful. Alyssa loved watching her bridesmaids come together and seeing their confidence shine—especially the flower girl, whose face lit up as she got her hair done. Having both her mom and grandmother present during these moments made the morning feel even more meaningful.

Once Alyssa slipped into her Essense of Australia gown from Marwin Bridal, everything began to feel real, setting the tone for the emotional moments still to come.

A First Look at the Lobby Balcony

Alyssa and Ryan shared their first look on the balcony overlooking the lobby at the Sheraton Station Square, a bright and intimate setting that felt perfectly tucked away from the rest of the day’s excitement. Seeing each other for the first time instantly eased any lingering nerves, allowing them to slow down and fully take in the moment together.

Adding to the sweetness of the moment, their beloved dog Stella joined them for photos, making the first look feel even more personal and undeniably them. That quiet time together set a relaxed, joyful tone that carried through the rest of their wedding day.

City Views & Iconic Pittsburgh Portraits

For their portraits, we walked through Station Square to get to the Grand Concourse, where the Pittsburgh skyline created an incredible backdrop. With a partly cloudy sky overhead, the light was soft and flattering—one of those quintessential Pittsburgh days that photographers love. We also made time to photograph at the Smithfield Street Bridge, one of my personal favorites. The combination of classic architecture, city views made their portraits feel timeless and unmistakably Pittsburgh.

A Short, Sweet Ceremony & A Night to Remember

True to Alyssa and Ryan’s vision, their ceremony was short, sweet, and heartfelt. Afterward, the evening flew by in the best way—filled with laughter, reconnecting with loved ones, and a packed dance floor.

One of their favorite moments? Seeing both sides of the family dancing together, laughing, and truly enjoying the celebration. That sense of togetherness perfectly reflected their relationship.

And of course, one of the most talked-about details of the night was the ice sculpture bar by Mastro Ice, serving drinks in the most fun and unique way possible.

A Dance Floor That Felt Like “Them”

If there’s one thing Alyssa and Ryan wanted, it was a wedding that felt joyful and relaxed—and that energy carried straight onto the dance floor. With Loyalty Entertainment keeping the party going and Steven Vance Entertainment providing ceremony music, the celebration never slowed down.

Between dancing, goofing off, and celebrating with their favorite people (and Stella!), the night felt authentically them in every way.

Blue Hour Portraits on the Dock

After the dance floor filled and the celebration was in full swing, we stepped outside for a few quiet minutes on the dock. It gave Alyssa and Ryan a chance to cool off from dancing—and to slow things down just enough to take in the day together. With the city lights beginning to glow and the sky settling into deep blue tones after sunset, we captured a series of blue hour portraits that felt calm, romantic, and effortlessly timeless.
