Lexi and Kye’s wedding day was years in the making! Not because of the planning, but because their story started long before weddings were even on the radar. These two are high school sweethearts who first met in band. Together, with the help of Yinz Getting Married & the Renaissance team, they built a fall Pittsburgh wedding day that felt comfortable, familiar, and built around the people who matter most to them. From their ceremony at St. Mary of the Mount to a lively downtown reception at the Renaissance Hotel Pittsburgh, the focus was simple: celebrate together and have fun doing it. This is a true high school sweetheart love story that instantly resonated with us (because yes, Matthew and I were high school sweethearts too 🖤).

Bridal preparations on a crisp fall morning.
That morning, Lexi spent the morning getting ready at the Residence Inn Pittsburgh, North Shore, surrounded by her closest friends as the excitement of the day slowly built. She wore a gown from One Enchanted Evening that perfectly complemented the burgundy and navy fall palette. Meanwhile, the hair and makeup by Julia James Salon and Glam to Go created a polished yet natural look that photographed beautifully in the soft fall light.

After getting ready, we stepped outside for portraits near PNC Park, using the baseball stadium and surrounding North Shore streets as a fun, distinctly Pittsburgh backdrop before heading to the ceremony.

A Ceremony at St. Mary of the Mount

Their ceremony took place at St. Mary of the Mount, one of Pittsburgh’s most iconic churches. Perched above the city, it offered a timeless, reverent setting for Lexi and Kye to exchange vows.
The moment Lexi and Kye were finally together was when the nerves melted away — something they later shared was a turning point in the day. From that moment on, the celebration felt relaxed, joyful, and completely present.

Wedding Portraits on Mt. Washington and the Roberto Clemente Bridge

After the ceremony, we headed out for portraits around the city. First, we started with views from Mount Washington, then made our way downtown. We stopped at the iconic Roberto Clemente Bridge, then continued onto nearby streets around Sixth Street.

These two were all smiles the entire time, cracking jokes and soaking in the moment together. Nothing felt forced during their portrait session.

A Downtown Reception at the Renaissance Hotel
The celebration continued with a fall-inspired reception at the Renaissance Hotel Pittsburgh. Burgundy and navy details paired beautifully with seasonal florals from Beloved Floral Company and rentals by Mosaic.
Guests filled the dance floor all night, thanks to Galiffa Productions. Live cocktail hour music by Steven Vance Entertainment and a live painter from Olga Nova Studios added thoughtful, artistic touches throughout the evening.
Seeing friends and family — many traveling from far away — truly let loose and celebrate together is one of the moments Lexi said she’ll never forget.

Once the reception began, heartfelt toasts set the tone for the evening and had guests laughing and tearing up in equal measure. After the toasts, the couple shared special dances with their parents. Once the formalities of the night concluded, the dance floor quickly filled, and friends and family celebrated alongside Lexi and Kye well into the evening.
