Kathleen & Shane’s Wedding at the Priory’s Grand Hall was the perfect day. It reminded me why spring weddings are so special. The soft May light, fresh blooms, and joyful energy filled this historic Pittsburgh venue. From their sweet first look in the garden to the heartfelt toasts during the reception, their day was full of laughter, love, and thoughtful details that made it truly their own.
I (Chrissy) had the pleasure of second-shooting this wedding alongside my friend Jenni Grace. Together, we captured so many candid, beautiful moments of this couple and their celebration at one of my favorite Pittsburgh venues.

Getting Ready at the Priory Hotel
The day began just steps away from the Grand Hall, at the charming Priory Hotel. Kathleen and her bridesmaids got ready in the bridal suite. It’s a quaint space with large mirrors and lighted vanities — perfect for bridal prep. The atmosphere was relaxed. The mother of the bride helped with final touches and shared a few emotional moments with Kathleen.

Before the first look, we took advantage of the garden’s beautiful light and greenery for family portraits. The spring greens and blooming flowers provided the perfect backdrop for timeless family photos that will be cherished for years to come.

Kathleen looked radiant in her gown. Her bridesmaids wore soft lilac dresses, which added the prettiest touch of color for the season.

Meanwhile, Shane and his groomsmen were getting ready in the library. They enjoyed the excitement and anticipation that always builds before the ceremony. One of the best parts about photographing full-day weddings at the Priory is how seamlessly everything flows. The hotel, garden, and ballroom are all just steps apart, allowing couples to stay relaxed and fully enjoy their day.

First Look in the Priory Garden
Before the ceremony, Kathleen and Shane shared their first look in the Priory’s beautiful garden. It was a sweet, emotional moment. Surrounded by the venue’s charming greenery, they had a quiet chance to connect before the excitement of the ceremony. We love when couples choose this spot. It feels private, romantic, and full of emotion.

A Romantic Ceremony in the Grand Hall Ballroom
Their ceremony took place inside the Priory’s Grand Hall ballroom. This classic space features high ceilings, stained glass windows, and soft golden string lights.
Guests watched as Kathleen and Shane exchanged vows. Their smiles never faded. It was one of those ceremonies filled with pure joy, happy tears, laughter, and the sweetest looks between them throughout.

Elegant Details & a Relaxed Cocktail Hour
After the ceremony, guests stepped into the courtyard to enjoy drinks, hors d’oeuvres, and the beautiful May weather. Meanwhile, the staff flipped the ballroom for the reception.
Inside, every detail had been thoughtfully chosen. Elegant table settings, soft florals in pastel blues and purples, and warm twinkle lights perfectly complemented the Grand Hall’s architecture. The ballroom looked absolutely stunning once the transformation was complete. We always love seeing how each couple makes the space their own. Kathleen and Shane’s style felt classic, romantic, and timeless.

Reception Highlights & Heartfelt Toasts
One of our favorite details from the reception was the two chairs placed on the dance floor for toasts. It might seem like a small thing, but it made a big difference. The couple had a perfect spot to sit together, take it all in, and allow us to capture the best reaction photos. Every smile, laugh, and teary-eyed moment felt genuine and heartfelt.
From the speeches to the packed dance floor, the reception was full of energy and love. It was clear how much family and friends adored celebrating Kathleen and Shane.

To kick off the party, Kathleen and Shane invited all their guests onto the dance floor for a big group photo. It was a fun, memorable way to celebrate the night. Surrounded by everyone they love, it perfectly captured the spirit of the day: joyful, connected, and full of life.

Starting the party with a Big Celebration
To get everyone on the dancefloor to begin the party Kathleen and Shane invited all their guests onto the dance floor for a big group photo. It was such a fun and memorable way to end their celebration. Surrounded by everyone they love, it was the perfect snapshot of what the entire day felt like: joyful, connected, and full of life.
