Emily and JM’s North Side Pittsburgh engagement photos took us through some of our favorite parts of the city. We met with the couple during the winter to discuss their wedding plans, and we connected right away. After spending this session together, we are even more excited for their fall wedding.

We started their engagement photos at Allegheny Commons Park on the North Side. It is such a charming park. It offers a small peek at the Pittsburgh skyline. The rain held off for us, and the cloud cover created soft, even light that photographed beautifully.

From there, we made our way toward the North Shore. It was a surprisingly quiet evening on the shore, which made it even better. The open walkways and skyline backdrop gave us some of our favorite images of the day.

Having two photographers always allows for different angles and perspectives. While I focused on one composition, Matthew captured a stunning close-up of Emily. Her eyes in that image were easily one of the highlights of the session.

Emily and JM also incorporated meaningful details into their engagement photos. Their SOX shirts hold special significance to them, and we love it when couples include personal touches in their sessions. It adds depth to the images and makes them uniquely theirs.

Matthew positioned himself on the opposite side of the bridge for a few shots, capturing a different vantage point.

We finished the session in the South Side, where Emily and JM are from. We found a vibrant mural that added a fun and colorful element to the final set of portraits.

Here is a quick shot behind the scenes. That’s us, the duo behind the cameras! We had such a great time exploring Pittsburgh with these two, and we cannot wait for their September wedding.
