Carnegie Museum Wedding – Kelly & Eric

Love and loyalty to their alma mater, that’s what brought Kelly & Eric together on their special day! H2P to the couple who tied the knot in true Panther style. Their Carnegie Museum wedding was a stunning mix of elegance, school pride, and unforgettable fun.

Here are some of our favorite moments from this vibrant summer celebration.

First Look in the Hall of Sculpture:

Kelly & Eric shared a sweet and emotional first look in the Hall of Sculpture one of the most beautiful spaces in the Carnegie Museum. With soft natural light pouring through the skylight and marble surrounding them, it was the perfect quiet moment before the excitement of the day unfolded. Their reactions were full of joy, nerves, and pure love a beautiful way to start their Carnegie Museum wedding.

Wedding Party Photos at the Cathedral of Learning:

After their first look, we headed across the street to the Cathedral of Learning at Pitt for wedding party photos. With its grand stone staircase and soaring Gothic architecture, it was the perfect backdrop for this Pitt-loving couple and their bridal party. The wedding party looked incredible against the iconic sandstone façade. It was classic, dramatic, and so full of personality. It was a beautiful way to celebrate where their story began while capturing timeless, university-inspired portraits.

A Pitt-Inspired Color Palette:

As a photographer, I loved the subtle nods to Pitt in the couples’ color palette. The rich golds, crisp whites, and shades of blue popped beautifully in the summer light and tied their alma mater into the day in such a thoughtful, elegant way.

Sunset Ceremony in the Hall of Sculpture:

After all the portraits we headed back to the museum for the ceremony in the Hall of Sculpture. As the sun began to dip lower in the sky, it cast a soft, golden glow through the skylights across the space. The natural light brought a warm, romantic feel to the marble surroundings. It was the perfect setting for a heartfelt ceremony that felt both intimate and grand.

We absolutely love photographing Carnegie Museum weddings. The space is so grand and dramatic, it always makes for unforgettable images. While the museum’s lighting can be a challenge, Matthew handles it like a pro, setting us up to capture every moment with clarity and style. One of my favorite moments in this space is always the first dance with guests watching from the balcony, it feels so timeless and magical.

ROC the Panther Makes a Surprise Appearance:

We mentioned earlier how much Pitt pride was woven into this day and what better way to cap it off than a surprise visit from ROC the Panther! You know it’s not a real Pitt party without our favorite mascot.
