Hotel Monaco Wedding | Emily & Keith

Emily and Keith’s Hotel Monaco wedding was absolutely gorgeous. I was so excited to accompany my friend Aaron (Aaron Varga Photography) as an assistant photographer for the day.

For one of the last days in December, it was unseasonably warm, which opened up more options for portrait time than we usually have that time of year. We truly could not have asked for a better day.

Ceremony at Heinz Chapel

The ceremony was held at the always beautiful Heinz Chapel in Oakland. With its soaring ceilings and stained glass windows, Heinz Chapel is one of Pittsburgh’s most iconic ceremony locations. It always provides a dramatic, timeless backdrop.

Emily was escorted down the aisle by her father as Keith waited anxiously for his bride. He had a huge smile as he saw her for the first time.

Portrait Time in Downtown Pittsburgh

Winter weddings can be unpredictable, but on mild days like this, stepping outside for photos adds so much variety to the gallery. We started their portraits in the grassy area between Pitt & Heinz Chapel. The light was beautiful.

After that, we headed to the Roberto Clemente Bridge for some iconic bridge photos.

Reception at Hotel Monaco

After the ceremony, everyone headed downtown for the reception at Hotel Monaco. A Hotel Monaco wedding has a unique feel — it is stylish, modern, and right in the heart of the city. The energy of a downtown reception always brings a fun momentum to the evening.

This was actually my first time photographing at Hotel Monaco, and I have to say it was a really beautiful space. The design feels upscale but still welcoming, and it photographs wonderfully. From the décor to the overall atmosphere, everything felt polished and intentional.

The toasts were heartfelt, and the dance floor stayed full as the night went on. It was such a joy to document the day alongside Aaron and be part of such a beautiful Pittsburgh wedding.
